DISASTER RESPONSE OR DISASTER RESTORATION
Artwork insurance claims work similarly to a disaster project where it is critically important to examine the extent of the damages as quickly and as accurately as possible. The longer your artwork sits following) a disaster or accident, the stronger the chance of it contracting irreversible damages. Your insurance company will need us to examine, photograph and draw up a treatment proposal and estimate for their review and approval. If you would like to request a quote to be provided to your insurer, please let us know and we will provide additional information often requested by insurers with the proposal. Our team of art conservators are experts in handling disaster and accidental damages. Without delay we will assess, repair and return your work to you. We are available to examine, collect and reinstall small and large-scale insurance claims.
CONSERVATION FRAMING
Conservation framing and archival storage is a large part of the conservation treatment process and follows meticulous standards of practice based in science that are proven to reduce environmental risk and the degradation of your artwork. At a minimum, Art-Kitect frames with the highest quality products that are acid-free, pH neutral (buffered), chemically inert and ultraviolet blocking. With over 1,000 framing and matting options, we’re able to outfit your mementos and artwork in the safest way available that is also aesthetically sympathetic to your piece
STANDARD FRAMING
Our trained designers have the expertise to frame and install virtually any memento or artwork. With over 1,000 samples of frames and matboard to choose from, we can help you find the perfect look. The difference between standard framing and conservation framing is that conservation framing products are scientifically designed to limit environmental risk and keep your artwork from degrading over time. Where standard framing products may not protect your art from harmful acids, ultraviolet rays and tapes.
ARTWORK HOUSING, DISPLAY + EXHIBITION
Materials used in collections care and framing prior to the 1980s are most likely non-archival and can have critically degenerative effects on the objects in a collection. We recommend having old housing and framing updated to ensure the safety and long-term preservation of your investments.
COLLECTIONS CARE
Collections care involves the development, storage, and preservation of art collections and items of cultural heritage. The primary goal within this branch of our work is to meet the needs of an individual collector or collecting institutional body, while also ensuring the long-term safety, stability, and monetary value of the cultural objects within the collector’s care. This usually involves treating or preventing damage caused by acids or the environment the collection is in.
GALLERY AND MUSEUM SERVICES
The research revealed two basic methodological ‘models’ of educational programmes in terms of their contribution to art education: 1) ‘the gallery as a classroom resource’ and 2) ‘the gallery as teacher about its own collection’, models which differ in terms of teaching and learning approaches, flexibility of educational tasks and relation to classroom teaching. The models are discussed in the context of the existing curricula and school practice in the two countries, and also of educational provision in the museums and galleries.

APPRAISAL SERVICES

Appraisals are required for a variety of purposes, such as insurance coverage or claims, charitable contributions, estate planning or the division of property. Our appraiser is a trusted member of our team who is accredited by The International Society of Appraisers (ISA) with good standing. Appraisal reports do not hold opinions on whether or not an object is genuine; has undisputed origin; or is a product of a specific person or manufacturer. The process to authenticate a painting starts with the artist’s catalogue raisonné.
